The musical performance, Mamma Mia at Novello Theatre leads an incredible all-star cast that will keep you in suspense throughout the play when a twenty year old woman named Sophie tries to gather clues while she looks for her father. Although Sophie will soon have a family of her own with her upcoming wedding celebration, she feels empty by the absence of a father figure on one of her most important days. For this enchanting young lady, it is very important that her father walks her down the aisle, but first, she needs to find out her true identity.
Sophie travels to Kalokairi, an island located in Greece to celebrate her wedding. In her quest to know who her father is, she finds an old diary that belonged to her mother. Here, she finds out that her mother had slept with 3 different men around the same time, which coincidentally happened a few months before she was born. Not giving up her dreams of having her father on her wedding day, Sophie sends invitations to these 3 mysterious men 3 months before the wedding. On the day of the wedding, the guests start to arrive and her friends Tania, a married rich woman, and Rosie, a single free-spirited close friend, were the first ones to arrive. Then, the possible fathers arrived: Sam, an American architect, Harry, a British banker, and Bill, a Swedish writer an adventurer. Sophie makes sure they don’t tell her mother that she invited them. When Donna, Sophie’s mother, saw them, she left in tears. “Mamma Mia’s” song is played, and the cast makes a delightful performance. Donna seeks the advice of Tanya and Rosie, and “Chiquitita” is played. Tanya and Rosie advised Donna that the best thing was to continue being her: “Dancing Queen” is played.
Unfortunately, Sophie still ignores who her father is, although she expected to recognize him at the moment she saw him. During Sophie’s bachelorette’s party, Donna and the Dynamos perform “Super Trouper.” Sam and Bill coincidentally attend the party, and they are asked to stay by the other guests. Sophie separately questions the three men as to why they are there. However, Sophie believes that Bill is the father after she learned that Bill’s aunt left a money inheritance to Donna on the verge of death. Sophie asks Bill to walk her down the aisle, but he wants to consult with her mother first. Sam also thinks he is the father and tells Sophie that he will be honored to walk her down the aisle. Likewise, Harry tells Sophie that he thinks he is her father, and this creates a state of confusion for Sophie.
After Sophie wakes up in despair from a nightmare about her three possible fathers, her mother assumes that she wants to cancel the wedding but, Sophie refused. However, Sophie calls off the wedding during the ceremony and her fiancé Sky agrees. This is where Sam finds an opportunity to propose to his long time love Donna, and they finally get married.
